New contracts for Worcestershire quartet

Four players have signed new contracts with Worcestershire, while another, Mehraj Ahmed, is considering a one-year deal for 2009.

Daryl Mitchell has signed a three-year deal which will keep him at New Road until the end of the 2011 season, Gareth Andrew a two-year contract while Josh Knappett and Chris Whelan have agreed one-year deals.

Richard Jones will work with the county during the winter before a decision is made regarding a playing contract for 2009.
