All change in the Championship

This year’s Fantasy competition is even more of a challenge given the off-season transfer activity (and legal action), as well as the number of new overseas players - and those bona-fide Englishmen qualifying due to their seldom-used EU passports.

The "true" overseas players are a cosmopolitan lot. Plenty of Aussies, plenty of stars. An added challenge for any Championship manager is that not all the overseas players will be there all year - so we could see a quick-fire contribution from early-season stand-ins like Ashley Noffke (Middlesex) or Lance Klusener (Notts).

  • You’d be daft to pick England players - maybe they’ll play one or two games - but view this as a challenge. You’ve got to go beyond the familiar names and put your knowledge of county cricket to the test.

Perhaps the academy is a good source - but who knows how the players will perform? Rod Marsh really put them through their paces over the winter - will they blow away allcomers? - or will they be knackered? Kirby, Harmison or Jones in your attack? Wood, Kenway, Shah?

You can enter from anywhere in the world (we look forward to the all Aussie teams!) but unfortunately prizes can only be won by UK residents.

    The Rules are essentially simple.
    • You pick 18 players - 1 from each county.
    • Pick 7 batsmen, 7 bowlers,
      3 all-rounders, 1 wicketkeeper
    • Two players will be your trumps
      - and score double points.
    • The player with the most points at the end of the season wins. The player with the least points (and we know a lot of you compete for this honour) wins nothing but the contempt of their friends.
    • You can also create a super-league and
play against your friends. Simply click
on the link at the bottom of the entry page.
