Ryan Hinds, the West Indies allrounder, will be out of action for up to eight weeks after picking up a head injury in training.
Nation News said that Hinds was preparing for Empire's match against Wanderers in the Sagicor Super Cup when he needed to be rushed to a nearby medical centre for several stitches.
Hinds has recently returned from England after a successful stint with Norden in the Lancashire League. He scored more than 600 runs, including a Lancashire League record of 224, and also captured more than 30 wickets in nine matches.
